Prx1 is a typical 2-Cys Prx.  After oxidation, the CP of a typical 2-Cys Prx will form a disulfide bond with the CR of another subunit.

Both subunits of the dimer are shown to highlight the disulfide bond between CP and CR.  The CP is Cys52 on α2 and the CR is Cys173.

The disulfide bond is shown in gold.
